BarkUp features

Built to get you off the app.

Profiles and matching should do just enough useful work to create better real-world walks. Here is what is planned for launch-and what is not ready yet.

At launch

The focused set BarkUp needs to make local introductions useful and safer.

Coming later

Good ideas that still need evidence, design work and careful testing.

Planned for launch

The foundations for a genuinely useful walk.

No inflated feature count. These are the capabilities BarkUp needs to solve the first problem properly.

The visible identity

Your dog comes first. Your privacy stays protected.

BarkUp profiles are not miniature dating profiles for humans. The useful identity is the dog: how they move, meet and feel around others.

An owner still completes adult verification and remains accountable for their conduct. Their home and personal life do not need to become public content for the community to work.

Coming later

Promising, but not pretending.

These ideas are on the trail map, not in the launch build. They will only move forward when BarkUp can make them useful, private and reliable.

Coming soon

Walk-condition reports

Timely community notes about mud, livestock, flooding, broken gates and other useful route conditions.

Coming soon

Saved walk ideas

Keep a short list of routes that suit your dog’s pace, confidence and practical needs.

Coming soon

Smarter compatibility signals

Improve suggestions using what makes a walk work, without turning sensitive location data into an advertising profile.

No invented release dates

“Coming soon” means planned and subject to change. BarkUp will announce a date when the feature is tested and genuinely ready-not to create artificial urgency.
